Navigating SC DOT- How to find info and who to contact

πŸ›£οΈ Need Help with State Roads? Start Here.

Hi neighbors β€” it can be frustrating trying to figure out who to contact or where to report issues on our busiest roads.

Out of roughly 1,400 miles of roads in Lancaster County, about 900 miles are maintained by the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SC DOT) β€” including most major roads like Hwy 521.

If you see a road issue, here are helpful tools to submit requests, check project timelines, or identify who’s responsible:

🚦 General questions/concerns/suggestions

SCDOT manages light timing and operations β€” including requests for signal adjustments. SC DOT manages light syncing on HWY 521. We are in District 4. Best place to go to get Lancaster County area answers from the people who are working in our area.
